Local 208 Endorsed Candidates - (10/17/2019)

Local 208 brothers and sisters:

Please find below the list of Local 208 endorsed candidates for the upcoming November 5th, 2019 municipal elections. You should receive your ballot in the mail in the next couple of days if you haven't already. In addition to the list of municipal candidates Local 208 is supporting Proposition CC. Proposition CC does not raise taxes and will simply allow the state to spend tax dollars that have already been collected above the tabor limits. The average return for these excess funds to individual residents is only $37.00 but when pooled together they will provide approximately $200 million each for K - 12 education, Higher Education, and Transportation. This is will go a long way to improve our transportation infrastructure, improve funding for our public schools, and increase capital construction for higher education facilities. This money will be independently reviewed each year to ensure the money is only being spent on these 3 items. The capital construction projects for higher education facilities will also fall under the new state prevailing wage law that goes into effect July 1, 2021. This will make sure that the projects are bid fairly and reward contractors/labor unions operating high performing apprenticeship programs and paying workers industry standard wages.
